My Walgreens Deals This Week

Started this weekend off w/ some purchases @ Walgreens... no picture, though...

(2) Huggies Gentle Care jumbo diapeys ($20.00)
(1) Huggies Natural jumbo diapeys ($10.00)

Sale Price: $30

Used...
(2) $5/1 Huggies Gentle Care
(1) $3/1 Huggies Natural

$17.00 + tax= $19.25 total
GOT $10RR

Went last night armed w/ lots of coupons & got...

(1) Charmin 9 large roll TP (we needed!) $4.00
(3) Ajax dish soap $1.79 each
(2) Glade Sense & Spray $7.99 each
(2) Glade Lasting Impressions $7.99 each
(3) Garnier Styling Products $2.99 each
(2) Lip Gloss/Fillers $1.99 each
(1) Lip Line/Filler $0.99 each

Used...
(1) Charmin $0.25 off coupon
(3) Ajax $1.00 off coupon
(1) BOGO Sense & Spray $7.99 off
(1) BOGO Lasting Impressions $7.99 off
(2) Sense & Spray $4.00 off coupon
(2) Lasting Impressions $4.00 off coupon
(3) Garnier $1.00 off coupon
(3) Garnier $2.00 off coupon
(1) $10RR from 1st diapey deal

Total Amount Due: $1.04 + tax ($3.93)= $4.97

Lessons Learned:
** RR can't apply to tax... the product/non-tax amount must be at least what the RR is for.
** Need to find cheap $0.25 filler items.
** Did well w/ my list & plan of action, except now I know to plan for non-tax w/ RR. That threw me off at the register & I grabbed an extra lipgloss in error... so I have to take back that for a refund (got 3 instead of the 2 I needed).

Overall happy, though. We are rounding out our 1st biweekly w/ $90 available for food + toiletries + cleaning supplies. We went over by about $2, but I have to remember this is a marathon-style issue. We can't expect to hit 1 store or 1 week where we'll find everything we want/need on sale or nearly free.

But, the preparation we've already started will allow for us to continue & smoothly transition into this next biweekly. I'm very excited about all the future deals & savings we'll come across!

My CVS Deals This Week

Got my Rx filled for $10 and got the $25 gift card...

And purchased all of the above w/ the $25 gift card + $2.18 (tax included).

Some of the MFG coupons used... x2 $1/1 Covergirl, x1 $1/2 Old Spice deodorant, x2 $1/1 Garnier, x2 $.025/1 Dawn.

Will post total savings & values... as I don't have that receipt now! :)

Walgreens on 03/10/09: Mom's Deals...

Here's just the free stuff:

Total Spent on This Trip: $6.32 (cost + tax)

How it broke down...
(2) Glade Lasting Impressions @ $7.99 each
(2) Garnier Fructis Shampoo @ $2.99 each
(2) Garnier Fructis Conditioner @ $2.99 each
(1) Garnier Fructis Styling Cream @ $2.99
(1) Colgate 4.0oz Total Toothpaste @ $3.49
(1) EDGE shaving gel @ $1.99
(1) Ajax 16.0oz Dish Liquid @ $1.79
Before coupons & tax: $38.20

Here's the manufacturer's coupons we added in...
**** 1 BOGO Glade Lasting Impressions (-$7.99)
(printable... see THIS post by SwagGrabber for the printable link... you should be able to print it out at least 2xs from 1 computer)
**** 5 $1/1 Garnier coupons from the Sunday paper inserts on 03/08/09 (-$5)

Here's the Walgreens coupons we added in...
**** 1 $2/1 Garnier coupon (pg 18 of the Easy Saver Catalog... located by the Walgreens sale ads @ front of store) x5 (-$10)
**** 1 $4/1 Glade coupon (not sure of the page number, but there was a grabby stack near the item) x2 (-$8)
**** 1 $1/1 Ajax coupon (in sale ad)
**** 1 $2.50/1 Colgate coupon (in Easy Saver catalog)

So, w/ coupons applied... the OOP= $3.71 (savings of 90% sale prices or savings of 93% off MSRP!!!) + tax of $2.61= $6.32

Also, Mom walked away w/ $1 of Register Rewards towards her NEXT purchase!

(Note: with this scenario, ALL of the Garnier products were free & the 2 Glade products were free... we just paid for tax!!)

I'm heading tonight to both CVS & Walgreens after work to pick up my own deals, as I didn't have my $10RR from Sunday or my CVS $5ECB!

Although I'd love to see the savings % close to 70%, I am pretty happy w/ our 1st week of trying to search the deals. We have lots of meat to carry us through at least this week & most of next week. In fact, the baked ziti I made last night will probably last throughout this weekend! It was SOOO much food. And the french bread was kind of a splurge, but it will be so nice to toast w/ the leftovers or grab for a quick breakfast w/ some of Tim & Bekah's or Mama's homemade jelly! Mmmm...

We also got some goodies at CVS, but not nearly as much. I have a new Rx for prenatal vitamins (for $10) which I will purchase w/ my coupon for a (free!) $25 CVS gift card! Yay! That will help w/ building up some ECB!

Sorry no pictures to share... I put it all away before thinking of pics! Definitely next time!

Saved 81% @ Publix!

{What we paid $9.12 for...}

Since we are starting our new food budget w/ new purchasing rules, I thought we could try out one of the shopping deals @ Publix this weekend. Since there CAN be so many great deals on stuff we may or may not use, I wanted to make to buy only what we will eat/use.

Publix has lots of buy 1, get 1 free deals going on now w/ sales on other stuff we eat!

We bought 14 cans of Progresso soup (for easy lunches or quick dinners) @ $1.25 each. I had a coupon for each can. Pretty much $0.50 of each can w/ two $1.10 of one! Then we bought 2 cans of Progresso Bread Crumbs @ B1, G1 free w/ a $1 off coupon. Finally, we grabbed 2 bottles of WishBone dressing @ B1, G1 free w/ 2 $0.75 off coupons & 4 cans of B1, G1 free Green Giant veggis. Yay! AND, Publix has some stores coupons for $5.00 off your purchase when you buy 20 of some specific items (our qualifying purchases... the soup, bread crumbs, & canned veggies).

So, our total OOP was $9.12. We saved right under $39 off regular pricing! And @ Publix... we usually avoid Publix due to higher prices, but matching up buy 1, get 1 free deals w/ 2 coupons makes for awesome deals!

Now, this won't feed us for the month... but it sure will help w/ a ready, @ hand lunch @ work. Additionally, we WILL have to make more trips to more stores, but fortunately there's a WinnDixie, Publix, CVS, + Walgreen on my way home from work. A WM on the way home from school. So, it will take add'l planning, but well worth it!

Also, today I purchased some of the Organic Flax cereal Nick likes @ Walgreens for 2/$5. We normally pay between $3-4 for one box. Savings!!!!
